HOT Style: Meet Matt
Spotted at the Sunday Flea Market in the Palace, White Rock, Hastings
Matt has a “quirky, unique style,” as HOT style-seeker, Claudine Eccleston, reports.
Where do you live?
I live in Lewisham, south London, and before that Walthamstow.
What brings you to Hastings?
Matt was spotted strolling around the Sunday Flea market at the Palace: “I’m visiting Hastings for the weekend.”
Where do you buy your clothes?
Matt likes to be careful about his style purchases and so they come mainly from flea markets, charity shops or they’re specially selected pieces that he’s saved for. His jumper came from a visit to New York and trousers from TK Maxx.

How would you describe your style?
Matt struggles to define his style, but chooses items of clothing that are a bit “quirky, unique, not garish” and different to what the High Street offers. So that’s no designer, no mass market, no style icons! By the way, he doesn’t like cutting his hair too regularly and opts for a trim about twice a year.
What are your favourite clothes?
Matt’s favourite item of clothing was the top he was wearing which he got in a flea market in New York.
Matt works at The Gate, an arts and resource centre for people with learning disabilities based in Shepherds Bush, London.
