Join a community venture: make a difference
£400,000 share offer is now open. Energise South Society is a community benefit society that intends to install solar PV on schools and community buildings in the Hastings area, raising the funds needed through a public share offer. Tracey Heaword writes.
To date, Energise South has raised £80,000. Work has already commenced on the first installation.
Local people can:
· Become a member
· Subscribe for 50 to 30,000 £1 shares
· Expect annual interest payments on shares of 5%
· Build a fund for local community benefit
· Engage in a democratic process, one member one vote
· Help create a greener future for our children
Director Richard Watson said: “We want as many local people as possible to join Energise South to deliver this community venture and make a difference to becoming zero carbon. We are excited to be in the process of planning more solar installations at our local schools.”
Energise South is supported and assisted by Energy4All. Energise South is one of the family of twenty-six community energy co-operatives developed by Energy4All, demonstrating the power of co-operation in the renewables sector.

The share offer is open until 30 November 2019.
