A young person with rainbow stripes painted on their cheeks smiles. They are wearing sunglasses in the shape of clouds and a headband with 2 rainbow Pride flags waving in the wind. Behind them and out of focus, more people arrive at The Oval carrying a banner and one person in a bright green wig makes a Victory Sign with their fingers for the photographer.

We are the Rainbow after the Rain!

JJ Waller shares a pick of his images from Pride with HOT readers. He says:

“What an inspiring and brilliant day. Out of adversity – and a rain-drenched march to the Oval – came so many positives. Despite funding issues that had cancellation stamped all over, the small band of altruistic organisers once again created a vital and dynamic happening.

“Hastings & St Leonards Pride continues to impress. What this Pride consistently has at its core is the celebration of communities for the community.

“And wow did it deliver… As  Brighton Pride flounders in muddy seas of excess and hedonism this Pride keeps it head well above the waves. Simply the best. I loved it.”

Pride organiser Natasha Scott said “it was a really great day – so lovely to see so many people there. A very special thanks to 247 Taxis for coming in at the last minute – not just to save the day but to give Hastings Pride a bright future for the years ahead.”
