Nature Walk at Ore Valley

The next Heart of Hastings guided Nature Walk is this Saturday 8 September from 10am, featuring tree surgeon and artist, Jim Roseveare, story-teller and herbalist, Ben Edwards and Claire Land, Forest School Leader. Anton Hack writes.

There’s something for everyone on this walk. Come along and join us – our nature walk guides really help to bring this fascinating brownfield site alive.

This event is FREE and open to all. Nature packs aimed at Under 16s also free to all. Visitors of any age are welcome, but please note that no under 16s will normally be admitted alone, and there are difficult, and probably wet areas of terrain to walk over, so please bring appropriate footwear.

Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a short lead to follow site requirements.

Heart of Hastings Ore Valley.

This is a really good venture = we all need to get out and about in our green and lush town! So many places here to see and enjoy….but how many of you are aware that there is a planning application in the pipe line to fell 71 trees and pollard/poison/ and Lord knows what else on the Beauport Park caravan site.
This monstrous application can be found at HS/TP/18/00678. If you type Beauport Park in the search window on the Hottie website the entire fiasco will appear…an excellent article but difficult to source at the moment…it is truly shocking and especially so when it appears this application will be decided by officers and the planning committee (all elected councillors) will have no say and neither will the public be heard about this despite many objections on the planning website….
