Can you define astrology for me?

One way to understand astrology and how it works in predicting the future is through economics or weather forecasting where there are many factors to be taken into account.  The closer you are in time to an event, the more accurate you can be in anticipating the likely outcome from a range of possibilities.  If for example you were to get up in the morning and the sun was shining, you’d probably leave the house in a T-shirt. If the forecast says it’s likely to rain later you might take an umbrella with you.  It might not rain, or it might rain earlier or later than the forecast predicts, but at least you know it’s probable that day, something you may not have thought likely by looking at the sky that morning.  You won’t stop the rain, but you might choose to carry an umbrella.  Forewarned is forearmed and in this instance, the difference between staying dry and getting soaked!

I understand there are different astrological approaches. How do you approach the subject in the group?

I’m primarily a psychological astrologer so in one to one readings I look at a person’s strengths and weaknesses.  It’s the principal of know thyself, understanding how and why we hold ourselves back and how best to maximise one’s potential.  I also run a small group where we study the subject in depth and learn through interpreting our individual horoscopes.

Can you tell me more about your Introduction to Astrology Group?

Introduction to Astrology is an informal monthly class for beginners and anyone who wants to learn more about the art and craft of interpreting a horoscope.  We’ll also be looking at Sun Sign astrology, the charts of those in the public eye and mundane astrology or world astrology which sheds light on current events.

How long have you studied astrology?

I’ve studied and practiced astrology for nearly thirty years now alongside my career as a singing teacher and vocalist/bassist with Girlschool.
