The Tale of Princess Mandarava: Storytelling with puppets
Join us for a creative storytelling of the life of a legendary Indian princess Mandarava. Her story will be told using puppets, by a local artist and puppet maker, also called Mandarava.

The historical Mandarava was a companion to the well-known Tibetan Buddhist guru Padmasambhava. She was born into royalty with numerous auspicious signs, and was unrelenting in her dedication to practice the Buddha’s teaching. Matching the
accomplishments of Padmasambhava, she became a female guru and deity in her own right.
An inspiration to women both past and present she has led many beings on to the path of Awakening. Her story is full of adventures and the overcoming obstacles; from leaving her privileged life as a princess and standing strong against the conventions of the time, to facing the most terrifying of demons in the harshest of environments, to her own final experience of
Awakening.
