Adelaide Auditorium Ceiling

A call for volunteers from St Mary in the Castle Charitable Trust.

As it grows from strength to strength, the most beautiful venue in Hastings requires committed volunteers to secure its future writes Hannah Deeble.

One year on from reopening its doors, St Mary in the Castle’s diary is the fullest it has ever been. In the coming months the venue will play host to an eclectic variety of events; from the folk songs of Fairport Convention, Cara Dillon and Barbara Dickson, to the pop of Toyah Willcox, the theatre of The Rude Mechanicals, to the comedy of Arthur Smith, not to mention the recently launched ‘Have a Go’ dance series as well as a wide range of community events from groups such as SoundWaves, Pestalozzi and International Children’s Day.

However, these events are only possible due to the hard work of a dedicated group of Volunteers.  General Manager Zoe Ashdown says “I am ever so thankful to the fantastic group of volunteers that we have at St Mary in the Castle already, but as we’re getting busier by the day we do require more hands on deck! Volunteering with us not only allows you to give something back to the community, it allows you to make new friends, enjoy a wonderfully diverse range of events, enter our volunteer lottery, and take advantage of our membership benefits.”

Volunteers are needed with all manner of skills, be that in stewarding, admin, marketing, DIY or gardening!

If you think you can help in anyway, then contact Zoe Ashdown at stmarys@buckswood.co.uk or on 01424 715880.
