Theatre company goal for hospice funds
The Renaissance Theatre Company’s latest production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes is another step towards their goal of raising £40,000 for St Michael’s Hospice. Zelly Restorick writes.
Last year, the theatre company brought their total to £31,000 raised since they started as a company back in 2009. Next year is their 10th Anniversary and “we hope to make it a year to remember and and it would be wonderful to bring our total to £40,000” says Renaissance member, Kim Sutton.
At the heart of the Renaissance Theatre Company is friendship, old and new. Many of the members of the company met during productions by The Hastleons, where “a fierce passion emerged between these creative people for musical theatre”. But it was the tragic deaths of two much beloved members of the group which acted as a catalyst for the company to re-unite, when they performed a gala concert in memory of their friends and in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. They’ve been raising funds for the hospice ever since.
The Renaissance Theatre Company are pleased to welcome new members into their company and hope to continue to champion local theatre and the joy of live performance for everyone.
