The St Leonards Pub hosts ‘lock-in like no other’!

A brand new dark comedy brings a ‘lock-in like no other’ to the St Leonards Pub for one night only. Time Please, which launched to rave reviews in March, sees feisty publican, Cath (Kate Tym) and her stoically optimistic husband, Steve (John Knowles) struggling to make ends meet in their run down pub. Closing time takes a sinister turn when Keith (Garry Fox), one of their regulars, emerges – off his head and with a planet-sized chip on his shoulder. Chock full of wild conspiracy theories, Keith wants his story heard and Cath and Steve find themselves caught up in his crack-pot plan…and it’s not going to end well.

Writing partners, ‘It’s Not Us’ (Kate Tym and John Knowles) have been working together for over four years. They have a number of different performance pieces under their belt, including recent show A Penny Pincher’s Christmas Carol, which sold out in December 2016 and already has pre-bookings for this year’s run. The duo from St Leonards-on-Sea are known for their dark humour and love of performance in intimate and unusual spaces.

The pair co-wrote and developed Time Please throughout 2016, fine-tuning the script through performances in local pubs. “The St Leonards is a great venue to present this one off performance with our new cast, for our pre-Brighton Fringe Festival premiere,” says John Knowles.
