In an age of pitch corrected, accountant-led ,1984 style ‘muzac’ pumped at you from all angles, Red Diesel make a welcome change. The songs are real stories, almost folk tales, from a woman’s perspective. The singer and songwriter, Miss Kitty, is a wild cross between Barbara Streisand and Janis Joplin. It’s the kind of voice you don’t forget, wrapping you in warm air one moment, then slicing you in two the next.
