Folk In A Box
Intimate 1-2-1 music experience
Folk in a Box is the UK’s smallest performance venue. One audience member is allowed in at a time. The door is closed behind them. They are given one song, performed by one musician. By the time the song is the over, the musician is just about visible in the darkness and intimacy of the box. The experience is compelling.
Folk in a Box is a unique live musical experience curated by the Lantern Society, taking place at the Stade Open Space Sunday on 2 September from 12pm – 2.30pm and 3.30pm – 6pm. The event is FREE! No need to book.
In earlier incarnations, the Folk in a Box project has featured at Tate Britain, the Royal Festival Hall and Battersea Arts Centre, plus a host of music festivals and street-corner appearances. The box first appeared in the main exhibition galleries of the 13th Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, ‘Common Ground’ and has had a residency at the Barbican.
