Circus tale from Twin Town film-maker

Kevin Allen, director of hit film Twin Town, brings us the life-affirming Y Syrcas on Sunday 9 February. Filmed in Welsh, Y Syrcas tells the magical legend of a small village circa 1848, when the rural community bursts to life with the arrival of a dazzling, anarchic traveling circus. Half of ticket sales will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hastings actor on the big screen

Up and coming local young actor Alfie Field (pictured above) joins us for a Q&A after the screening of Side By Side, on Saturday 8 February. This beautifully shot British debut is part family drama, part coming of age story and a road trip that nods towards some of the greats of children’s literature.

Hastings train thrill ride

The Last Passenger - Hastings bound

The Last Passenger on Friday 7 February sees Lewis and Sarah (Dougray Scott and Kara Tointon) embark on a Hastings-bound train from London, on what turns out to be a journey to remember, but for all the wrong reasons. Stop after stop is missed and the train hurtles relentlessly down the track… what is going on and will they survive this death ride destined for destruction?

Charming comedy caper

In a quiet east coast resort, Norman faces council pressure to ‘spice up the programming’ of the town’s pier and its cherished theatre, so brings in his one-time friend Eddie to help, with increasingly hilarious results. In Love With Alma Cogan screens on Thursday 6 February.

Come along to support independent films from across the UK at the Electric Palace CInema, 39a High Street, Hastings, TN34 3ER Telephone 01424 720393.
