Film focus on equine therapy for autism
The Horse Boy is an extraordinary film about autism, screening this Thursday 19 May, with a live Q&A at 8pm, at the Electric Palace. Mongolia is the setting for this documentary, which chronicles the journey of the Isaacson family as they travel in search of a mysterious shaman who they believe can heal their autistic son, says Annie Waite.
Victoria Richards from the UK Horse Boy Foundation will be appearing for a live Q&A after the screening of The Horse Boy film. She will discuss the work of the charity, which funds families to go on learning camps using the “Horse Boy method”, an equine therapy specifically targeting neuro-sensory issues and kinetic learning.
Delving in to the strange world of autism, horses, shamanism, with Mongolia as its backdrop, The Horse Boy tells the story of a family that will go to the ends of the earth to find a way into their son’s life.
