Entertainment over three days at Hastings Easter Festival
The Hastings Easter Festival, a live music and arts event celebrating this high point in the Christian calendar, will be held as usual over this coming weekend, as the organiser describes.
After making a trip to the pier last year, the main event, held on Easter Saturday, returns to the Stade Open Space, where live music artists will perform from 4pm. These include MOBO nominee Asha Elia, a fast emerging young artist with a contemporary RnB and afro-beat vibe, soulful Inderpaul Sandhu, whose singles have been BBC play-listed, Kapes A Witness, a rap artist from Birmingham, and local band Lion Dogg.
The headline act is Triple O, a hip-hop artist from London, who makes a return to the festival, as does rapper Feed’Em. The full running order is:
Northwood Acoustic Duo (4.05-4.20pm)
Kapes A Witness (4.25-4.50)
Inderpaul Sandhu (4.55-5.10)
Lion Dogg (5.20-5-50)
Feed’Em (5.55-6.15)
Inderpaul Sandhu (6.25-6.40)
Asha Elia (6.50-7.20)
Triple O (7.30-8.15)
The concert is sponsored by Hastings Youth Trust. There will also be food from Southside Wrappers. The weather forecast is looking promising as sunny.
The festival begins on Good Friday evening at 7.30pm, when the Electric Palace cinema is hosting the film The Miracle Maker, an animation of the life of Christ through the eyes of a child (tickets can be bought in advance here).
And it concludes on Easter Sunday afternoon at 4pm with an acoustic stage at Cactus Hound bar in St Leonards (33-35 Western Rd, TN37 6DJ) featuring Northwood Acoustic Duo and Inderpaul Sandhu.
We really hope you can join us for some of the events as we come together to celebrate Easter over the weekend.
Hastings Easter Festival, now in its seventh year, is organised by a group drawn from several local churches.
