Comedian of the Year in Hastings this Saturday!
Come chuckle at live comedy from the newly crowned winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award this Saturday at the Electric Palace, says Annie Waite. Plus, catch local comedian, the “friendly absurdist,” Anthony Benelux.
Alasdair Beckett-King is a legendary comedian, in that there is little historical evidence he exists. But he does exist. He’s an award-winning stand-up comedian bringing his fresh debut solo show to Hastings.
- “Britain’s leading New Testament impersonator.” – Alasdair Beckett-King
- “One to Watch” – Time Out
- “Delicious writing and exceptional observations” – Chortle
- “A bold and fresh comedy voice” – The Stage
Judge of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award (a well respected contest in the comedy world), Steve North, general manager of Dave TV, said, “Alasdair was really polished. He was unhurried and had energy; he switched between three or four types of comedy, showing real invention.”
Support for Alasdair’s show comes from homegrown Hastings talent, the “friendly absurdist” Anthony Benelux, who explores some of life’s real issues, and also some entirely imaginary ones.
Expect silly one-liners, stupid wordplay and absolutely no magic tricks…
