New Studio: the Work Ship Sails On
Incurva Studios (8-10 West Street, tucked in behind George Street) has expanded with five new artists moving into the studio space beneath. Collectively, they will be known as The Work Ship, with artists working with metal, precious jewellery, ceramics, artists’ books, printmaking, illustration, painting, drawing and needlework.
The new studio will operate from late March 2009, and will be taking part in the First Thursday programme (April- September) opening its doors for open studios (see www.firstthursday.org.uk) and occasional exhibitions and events. Thanks to everyone who came to our housewarming and first open studio as part of First Thursday. The next First Thursday will be 7th May, 5pm-8pm. We’ll also be open over the Jack in the Green May Bank Holiday weekend.
Metalworker extraordinary Leigh Dyer is still on the top deck if not up the flagpole, with silversmith Jennifer Kidd at the opposite scale, plus Lucy Dixon (painting and drawing + installation). And down in the galley there’s Alice Underhill, Lorna Crabbe, Celestina Froude, Steve Burgess and Sarah Evans.
