Drawing skills at the ready!
Join St Michael’s Hospice this October half-term for four mornings of fabulous workshops for The Big Draw. The workshops which take place in Hastings & St Leonards will be led by some of the Hospice’s Follow that Duck artists and are open to all ages and abilities. Gabby Pavek writes.
Tuesday 24 October – The Nest Cafe, High Street, Hastings – Rosie Freund
This workshop will be suitable for all ages and abilities and is being led by artist, Rosie Freund. A variety of themes will be explored during the session, including A Day at the Seaside.
Wednesday 25 October – Arts in the Park, Alexandra Park, Hastings – Sophie Malpas
Come along and connect with the rich offerings of the park spaces, taking inspiration from the natural world, through collage, led by Sophie Malpas. All abilities and ages welcomed.
Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October – St Michael’s Hospice, St Leonards on Sea – Georgie Wheeler
Join us on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October at St Michael’s Hospice (or both sessions, if you are feeling keen!) with artist Georgie Wheeler, to develop some expressive sensory doodles, inspired by walks in our Hospice gardens. These will then be used to decorate some of our bench seating areas at the Hospice.
Come and make your mark!
All sessions run from 10.30 am – 1.30pm and are free to attend but, prior booking is essential. For full details visit The Big Draw.
St Michael’s Hospice
Supporting and enabling the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss.
Our integrated multi-disciplinary teams deliver supportive care, symptom control and support to patients and families through our In-Patient Unit, Wellbeing Programme, Hospice Community Outreach, Specialist Palliative Care Telephone Support Line, Bereavement Support and Community Support Volunteers.
The Hospice operates a Donation Centre in St Leonards on Sea, where appointments can be made to drop off donations of pre-loved goods. In addition, there are 7 retail shops across the catchment area in Battle, Bexhill on Sea, Hastings, Rye, Sidley and St Leonards on Sea.
