Call out for local artists
Open call opportunity for artists living in Hastings and St Leonards
SOWN is a new collective that hosts curated exhibitions in collaboration with local charities, run by local artist Melanie Twigger.
The aim of SOWN is to promote and fundraise for local charities, and to inspire critical and creative thinking through art. Helping the community, local artists and activists.
The first collaboration will be with Hastings based charity HEART – Hastings Emergency Action Response Team – an amazing charity that provide mutual aid, support and advice throughout the community. They are passionate about volunteering and encourage people to lend a helping hand to those in need.
It will be held in July at the newly rejuvenated St Andrews Mews, which has recently opened its doors to creatives and small businesses in the local area.
We are looking for artists based in Hastings and St Leonards to respond to the theme ‘acts of community’. All interpretations and mediums welcome! Pieces should be no bigger than 1m in size.
Please include a short description (250 words max) about how your piece relates to the theme.
