Governance volunteers needed for 1066 Energy
1066 Energy is the campaign for local energy in Hastings and Rother. This really is a fantastic initiative for our area; some local people have been working on this vision for many years, but now it’s rapidly taking shape and needs volunteers.
1066 Energy aims to take control of reducing how much energy we need, generate more renewable energy locally and ensure that this is owned by the community in order to help build a resilient local economy by ensuring the money generated stays within the area.
Currently, the 1066 Energy campaign team are urgently seeking experienced volunteers with expertise around governance structures, creating memoranda and articles of association and ensuring due diligence, to join their Governance Group, ensuring that a good framework is in place to launch a Community Energy Co-operative.
