The Interpretation Matters Handbook
TONIGHT! Just a quick reminder to all artists and art enjoyers that it’s the launch event of Dany Louise’s book, The Interpretation Matters Handbook, on Wednesday 20 May, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick.
The Interpretation Matters Handbook is all about the writing produced by art galleries for public information. This book humorously “challenges your preconceived ideas” and “interrogates accepted notions” of the art language found in galleries. It wonders if simpler language can be used to communicate better – because good writing matters.
Dany Louise is an arts writer, researcher and project strategist. The launch is at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill at 6.30-8.30pm. There will be wine and nibbles, and a little performancey thing by Dany herself, followed by an interview with her by Nicci Talbot. Plus copies of the book for sale at a 10% discount for one night only! If you’re planning to come, it would be helpful if you could let Dany know. There’s limited space, so please RSVP to Dany at talk@danylouise.co.uk.
