Baroque theme for HPC’s autumn concert

Stagecoach confirms details of bus cutbacks

Details released by Stagecoach of changes in its East Sussex bus network show a re-ordering of several routes and a reduction in frequency on several local services. County council funding has ensured the continuance of parts of the service for six months which otherwise would have ceased . Nick Terdre reports.

‘Playing the Race Card’

The biggest exhibition of Black artists on the south coast opens this Friday, 21 October and promises to spark debate and challenge racism. Opening during Black History Month, Playing the Race Card, features the work of 25 Black artists responding to their perceptions or experiences relating to the intentionally undermining  term ‘playing the race card’. HOT’s Erica Smith looks forward to an empowering show.

Echoes in Electro Studios

Sea Change claims ignorance of QGR budget change

As the spotlight is turned ever more searchingly on Sea Change Sussex and its projects, the economic development company has made the startling claim that it was unaware that the Queensway Gateway Road (QGR) budget was drastically reduced in 2015. It also says it will need further funding to complete the project. Nick Terdre reports.

Bus future still unclear though some Stagecoach cuts reversed

East Sussex County Council has received more than £41m to improve bus services, but has yet to disclose details of precisely how it intends to do so. However, it has moved to reverse some cuts announced by Stagecoach in Hastings services. Anna Sabin provides an update.
