John D Robinson, a regular contributor to HOT, has published his first full collection of poetry, Hang In There. Most of the poems appear in book form for the first time. Adrian Manning of Concrete Meat Press gives his appreciation of the man and his work. There follow three of the poems.
The book launch of Aaron Bastani’s Fully Automated Luxury Communism: A Manifesto, will take place at St Mary in the Castle on Monday 10 June, 6pm. £2 on the door. A different kind of politics for a new kind of society: beyond work, scarcity and capitalism. Lee Humphries writes.
Hastings Jazz and Blues Festival takes place this weekend, with a main programme on the Stade supplemented by acts in a number of Old Town pubs. This is the first of this year’s programme of Stade Saturday events. Nick Terdre reports.
