Sign up for The Big Sleep Hastings 2016
Registration is now open for The Big Sleep Hastings 2016, raising awareness of homelessness and money for Seaview, the local organisation that helps the most vulnerable people in the town. The event will take place on Friday 30 September, starting at 7.30pm and ending at 7am the following morning.
Sue Burgess of Seaview says: “We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for The Big Sleep 2016. This year the event will be hosted by TV’s Steve Furst, plus music from The Rufus Stone Band and King Size Slim!
“You can set up your personal fundraising page by following this link. Once your fundraising page is live, you can share the page amongst your friends and family and encourage them to sponsor you. You will also be able to share your page using the Facebook and Twitter buttons on your personal fundraising page.
“Once you reach your first fundraising target of £25, we will confirm your place and issue you with a ticket.
“Further rewards are available the more money you raise. Look out for bonus prizes too, as we run regular competitions on our Facebook page to raise awareness of the event. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
Last year £23,000 was raised for Seaview. Let’s see how much better we can all do this year!
“Gratitude FROM EVERYONE AT SEAVIEW to: Undercliffe House (sponsoring Big Sleep travel mugs available to buy soon and at the event), Hastings Round Table (sponsoring Big Sleep wristbands available to buy soon and at the event), and also the People Lab and Ashdown Hurrey who are sponsoring the event.
“This is important to us as we’ve pledged to promote the businesses who sponsor us”, continues Sue Burgess. “Business sponsorship means that all funds raised by the Big Sleepers go towards Seaview frontline services meeting the homeless and vulnerable. There is a Big Sponsorship Pack available for businesses who may be interested in sponsoring the event.
“Also this year we’re encouraging workplace teams to take part and so far teams include Hastings Borough Council and Santander, to name a few. Also well-known local people have pledged to sleep out, including Michael Foster, the High Sheriff of East Sussex, Peter Chowney, HBC Leader, Cllr Kim Forward and Sarah Owen.”
