Join the fight against Hastings’ housing crisis
The Hastings Housing Alliance, a collective of local initiatives dedicated to addressing the pressing housing issues in our community, is inviting residents to come together for a drop-in event on Saturday 9 November. Sharon Rhodes encourages all renters to come along and share their concerns.
As many in our community are all too aware, the challenges surrounding housing in Hastings have reached critical levels. With inadequate government action and insufficient solutions from developers, it’s clear that we must take matters into our own hands. The Hastings Housing Alliance believes that community-led initiatives can pave the way for meaningful change, and is appealing for support from everyone feeling threatened by the current housing crisis.
This drop-in event aims to gather residents who are passionate about finding solutions to the housing crisis. We will explore innovative ideas such as self-build projects, housing cooperatives, and other grassroots initiatives that empower individuals and families to take control of their housing needs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these concepts, share their experiences, and discuss how to form community-led groups that can effectively tackle housing challenges. Whether you are facing housing issues yourself or simply want to contribute to a positive change in our community, your input and involvement are crucial.
Join us for an engaging discussion and take the first step towards creating a more sustainable and inclusive housing future for Hastings. Together, we can make a difference!
We look forward to seeing you there! Together, let’s build a brighter future for housing in Hastings!
