Meet Rebecca Snotflower
Spotted outside Miki’s Bar in St Leonards, Rebecca describes her style as ‘charity shop chic meets homeless punk glamour’. HOT Style-Seeker, Bev Francis reports.
She buys most of her clothes in charity shops, but occasionally she will purchase a crazy T shirt from the Piracy Boutique in Brighton, where she sometimes works. She has also bought the odd thing in Asda.
Rebecca talks me through the clothes she is wearing.
“My shiny scarf is stolen from the dressing up department at the last Live Action Role-Play event called ‘Empire’. The lacey leggings were from a charity shop ten years years ago, I don’t even know where the vest top came from! The cut off jacket I found in a doorway in Bexhill and then I painted it with emulsion paint. The boots are my favourite things in the whole world I got them from Shoe Zone.
“My look is influenced by practicality, just in case I get chased by zombies, that’s why my hair is short so the zombies can’t grab hold of it! I like to look a bit silly to go with my ever lasting job stopper tattoos. I’m not really fussed about clothes, because I am so tattooed, I am in fancy dress every day.”
Bex informs me that she is an artist, but in the real world she works for the Sussex Sausage Company and The Right Wok Noodle Bar. Her hobbies are ‘shit stirring’ on Facebook, playing the spoons, as well as listening to music. I like to listen to Reggae Choir music and Punk Hillbilly washboard spoon playing bands, Madonna and absolutely nothing else!”
Ms Snotflower is from St Leonards, although she has travelled around a bit she always seems to come back. “I have seen St Leonards go through lots of changes. It’s a dump and I hate it!”
