Mini Wood Fest at Victorian walled garden

This free mini festival, as with everything the Bohemia Walled Garden does, is designed to promote our connection with the natural world and all of its bounty. All welcome to come along and enjoy, learn and experience a woodland walk, making nutcrackers, a wood art display, willow basket making, hurdle making, wood games and activities, pruning and hot drinks.

Current chair, Mary Dawson, a devoted and dedicated advocate for nature, is fully aware of its power and ability to heal – and is keen to re-connect people of all ages with both the natural world and the ancient skills and knowledge of our ancestors. She, along with the team of active volunteers, have transformed this Victorian Walled Garden into a thriving space for humans and nature.

The Bohemia Walled Garden Association was formed in 2009 in order to bring the Victorian Walled Garden in Summerfields back into active use for horticulture and associated educational and cultural activities. The garden is owned by Hastings Borough Council (HBC) and is located within the Summerfields Woods Local Nature Reserve (LNR).
