Open studios at Stables Studios, Fairlight

Stables Studios is celebrating the 11th year of artists’ studios in the Country Park with a weekend of open studios on Saturday and Sunday, 29-30 July, from 11am to 5pm, writes HOT reporter, John Cole.

The creation of the studios was a joint project with Hastings Borough Council and Denise Franklin and Sarah Palmer, who managed the refurbishment of what were once derelict horse stables. It is now permanent studios for four artists – Denise Franklin, Sarah Palmer, Sally Cole and Anny Evason – with stunning views over to the sea at Fairlight.

For this year’s Open Studios, there will also be two invited artists – Roz Cran and myself – showing our work at the top end of the beautiful garden alongside the four permanent studio holders.

Everyone is very welcome to bring a picnic and there will be drinks available at the bar.

Open Studios Saturday and Sunday, 29-30 July from 11am-5pm each day.

Parking: The Hastings Country Park car park is approximately 300m from the studios, please see map.
The Stables Courtyard is reserved for drop-off only and has two spaces allocated for visitors who need to be nearer the studios.
