Last chance to see Mazzer at the Museum

Bob Mazzer’s exhibition has been gracing the walls of Hastings Museum and Art Gallery since January. If you haven’t seen it yet, Erica Smith reminds you to get your skates on because it closes on Sunday 26 June. And, if you want a real treat, book to hear Bob talk about his work on Thursday 23 June.

Bob Mazzer has been documenting the world around him for over 60 years. This excellent retrospective shares some of Bob’s favourite photographs from across his career – his famous London Underground images, his travels abroad, and portraits of his chosen hometown, Hastings. There’s also a chance to see new images, produced since early 2020, which show a new direction in Bob’s work.

Mazzer’s photography is all about storytelling and the street. Each image is a short story in the making – characters caught on the tube or in Gensing Road can’t help but engage with the man behind the camera.

On Thursday 23 June from 6pm, Bob will talk for about an hour about his work – those of you who know Bob will know that he’s a brilliant raconteur. There will be time to enjoy his retrospective exhibition until 9pm. Tickets for the talk cost £5 – you can book here.
