HOT’s Paul Way-Rider takes a look at some of the shows coming up in August and September at the White Rock Theatre.

Bugsy Malone.  Thursday 11 – Saturday 13 August

The White Rock Theatre Summer Youth Project returns in 2022 for its 19th production. They’re back on the main stage with the unmissable production – Bugsy Malone. Based on the hit 1976 film and featuring a catchy, swinging score, Bugsy Malone is good, clean fun and a masterclass in musical comedy.

It is 1929 in New York and two gangs, comprised completely of children, square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards. In a final splurge gun and custard pie showdown, one hundred of Hastings and the surrounding area’s most talented young people aged 8-18 will ensure that this production is a sure-fire family treat! Oh What A Night! Friday 26 August

Oh What A Night! takes you back in time on a musical journey through the career of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. With a repertoire that needs no introduction, Oh What A Night!  combines amazing vocals, slick harmonies and even slicker dance moves to deliver a show full of energy and nostalgia. Milkshake! Live. Milkshake! Monkey’s Musical Saturday 27 August

Milkshake! Monkey is back and can’t wait to put on a spectacular new show for you all, joined by some of his favourite Milkshake friends plus two Milkshake presenters creating the most dazzling show you have ever seen!

Tropicana Nights with special guest DJ Pat Sharp. Saturday 3 September

The ultimate Tropicana Nights summer party! The sensational 80s party makers, Tropicana Nights are back once again with their hit-filled themed party! Someone synonymous with the 1980s is presenter and DJ Pat Sharp will be a special guest on the decks. He’ll play classic 80s floor fillers all night long, by the likes of Whitney Houston, Wham! From The Jam with Bruce Foxton and special guests The Vapors. Thursday 15 September

From the Jam are celebrating Sound Affects, the 5th studio album by The Jam, by performing it in full plus more classics by The Jam. Sound Affects reached no. 2 in the UK charts and featured two of the band’s most-loved singles Start! and That’s Entertainment. From The Jam features the original Jam member, Bruce Foxton, along with Russell Hastings who will be performing all the Jam’s greatest hits. More info and tickets

 

The Ultimate Classic Rock Show. Friday 16 September

Let The Ultimate Classic Rock Show take you on a roller coaster ride of classic rock nostalgia. Performing hit after hit live with stunning accuracy and high energy, accompanied by an incredible light and projection show, guaranteed to have you on your feet all night.
