What’s HOT at the White Rock

Hastings White Rock Theatre welcomes you back for some great live entertainment in 2022. There’s plenty on offer through these cold months into the spring and early summer. Marcio da Silva and Ariel Gragnani, both Brazilian born, will be joined by Bulgarian clarinettist Boyan Ivanov and percussionist Emmanuel MacDonald as they share some of their favourite bossa nova, samba, and choro numbers with us.

Ronnie Scotts All StarsRonnie Scott’s All Stars  Sat 15 January
Following on from their 2019-20 tour, which included a star-studded gala concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club return to White Rock, Hastings with a brand new collection of music, narration and projected archive images celebrating Ronnie Scott’s ‘Soho Songbook’.

 

TRextasyT.Rextasy Thu 20 January
Marc Bolan’s T.Rex were one of the most flamboyant bands of the original glam-rock era. Awarded ‘Best Live Tribute Band in the UK’ by the BBC, T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 25 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc’s very own T.Rex.

 

Hastings Philharmonic OrchestraHastings Philharmonic Orchestra Fri 28 January
This is the second full orchestral concert of the 2021-22 season at the White Rock, where HPO is the new orchestra in residence. We are delighted to welcome award-winning Brazilian pianist André Dolabella as soloist for this concert.

Programme: WAGNER Tannhäuser Overture, BEAL Symphony No. 10 (World Premiere), interval,  HARRISON Bredon Hill, RACHMANINOFF Piano Concerto No 3.

Multi-award-winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane is best known for his stand-up, panel show and chat show appearances. Currently, he has two top-ten hits – with his BBC Radio 4 show Evil Genius, and his podcast Man Baggage. Winner of ‘Best Show’ at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Russell went on to make history as the first comedian to win both the Edinburgh Award and Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in one year.
