Time Please
‘Time Please’ returns to The St Leonards pub on 12 and 13 June, following five days at the Brighton Fringe Festival. It’s Not Us theatre’s last outing in The St Leonards not only brought the house down, but, also the police turning up on mass after reports of a ‘woman in danger’. Whilst rehearsing the play, the company were confused to find a road full of police cars and police officers in stab vests beating on the door. Obviously the play is too real and it is one of the few plays which has to inform the local police that they are performing!
‘Time Please’ is a dark comedy drama, exploring the disturbing world of the ‘Manosphere’ through the mind of Keith a ‘social drinker’ whose reluctance to accept any responsibility for his life leads him down a series of conspiracy theory rants. Shambolic and drunk, Keith hatches a plan to share his plight with the world and so begins a night that sees ever-appeasing barman, Steve, and his feisty wife, Cath, in a lock-in like no other.
The play will be heading to London next, so this is probably the last chance to see it in St Leonards-on-Sea, where it was written and where there are more than a few ‘Keiths’.
Time Please runs from the 12 – 13 June at The St Leonards public house 16-18 London Road and starts at 7.30pm (doors 7.00pm). Tickets £12 and £8 conc.
