Hastings Fringe Festival 2016 extends dates due to overwhelming demand
Hastings Fringe extends festival dates
The second Hastings Fringe Festival will now take place from Tuesday 30 August until Sunday 4 September inclusive. The decision to extend the programme was made as a result of the high number of performers who responded to call-outs to take part in the performance arts festival.
Speaking on behalf of the Fringe festival, artistic director Heather Alexander commented: “There has been an overwhelming response to our calls for performers to showcase work including plays, poetry, spoken word, music, opera, cabaret and short films. This has meant finding suitable venues for the diverse range of potential performances. With this in mind, the Hastings Fringe Festival team has been liaising with a number of venues and spaces across St Leonards and Hastings, so that we can programme as many performers as possible. We are putting together the draft programme and will be contacting all potential performers next week with further details.”
Hastings Fringe Festival 2016 is an independent non-profit initiative launched last year to celebrate local culture and talent. For more information, please contact: hastingsfringe@gmail.com.
