Calling theatre directors!

For the attention of all those wishing to direct. An invitation to the directors’ meeting at the Stables Theatre on Monday, 4 December 2017 at 7.30pm. An opportunity to be involved with the Production Programme for 2019. Carol Hunt, co-ordinator for the Stables Theatre’s Programme Advisory Group, writes. 

The Programme Advisory Group has begun to plan for the 2019 season. We would like to extend a warm invitation to all active members, but especially prospective and past Stables Theatre directors, to come and suggest production ideas for 2019.

We would like you to enthuse us with your selection of plays and indicate your availability as a director for 2019, give us some brief thoughts on staging and budget together with an indication as to the availability of your scripts.

Please keep your suggestions to a maximum of three, and bear in mind that The Stables is looking for plays that will fill the theatre.

This year, we are also going to provide you with a Long List of plays we are thinking of doing. When we make the list available, please take a look. You may be familiar with some of the plays and you may have suggested them yourself in the past. If not, you can Google them to find out about them. If one or more appeals to you, please let us know that you are interested in directing them.

Newcomers to the Stables Theatre will be given the opportunity to ask questions and find out what it means to take on a directorial role. If you know of anyone who would like to direct but is new to the idea, please encourage them to attend.

All active members are also invited to contribute to the evening with their ideas and suggestions.

The bar will be open for the purchase of refreshment, incentive enough to attend!

The Programme Advisory Group will use your contributions to form the basis of future planning discussions.

Anyone unable to attend but keen to contribute should forward their ideas to Carol Hunt, the Programme Advisor Group Co-ordinator, via the Stables Theatre.
