Return of the Magnificent Sonics

The post-pandemic Hastings Fat Tuesday festival wouldn’t be complete without some sonic interventions. Sunday Sonics goes underground this year and promises a pot-pourri of audio/visual weirdness well worthy of a visit. James Weaver will attempt to lure you into the basement.

Sunday Sonics resides at the iconic Crypt club in the middle of town this year, an unusual and vibrant adjunct to the mardi-gras festival around the town. What’s happening there? Aural adventures, analogue and digital experiments, Ambiences, Sci-fi techno, Dub Techno, Cranky Techno, Post rock, Manic scratch Djs, weird visuals thrust into all corners of the space and a fully stocked cocktail bar. There’s also plenty of mouldy beetroot, warnings about plastic bags and decorated pallets around thanks to the legacy of founder, musician and artist Danny Pockets.
