Jon Pleased Wimmin has been pleasing crowds since the 1990s
An icon comes to town
Sharon Rhodes shares why she is so pleased to hear that Jon Pleased Wimmin is coming to Trinity Townhouse this Saturday – he is playing a FREE gig!
Jon Pleased Wimmin is a UK DJ who grew up in London and rose to fame in the club world during the 1990s where his flamboyant cross dressing and stylish presence became a force to be reckoned with. His current sets will be likely to feature tracks from artists and remixers as diverse as Brokenears, Cassimm, Butch, Superlover, Todd Terje & Purple Disco Machine to name a few. An eclectic mix for the discerning clubber.
In the last few years Jon has toured Australia, played in Ibiza and Dubai as well as appearing extensively throughout the UK at events like Creamfields and legendary clubs such as Ministry of Sound. Some recent highlights include DJ appearances with Eats Everything, playing at Manchester Pride alongside Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters and DJing at the 40th Anniversary gig at the O2 in London for Soft Cell.
Jon’s diary for the remains of 2023 is rammed with high profile gigs for Clockwork Orange in Ibiza, Clockstock 23 at Chelmsford Race Course, Retro in The Park Festival in Burnley, Cream in Chester, Reminisce Festival in Liverpool, Woodland Disco Festival in Nottingham, Heritage in Birmingham, Lakefest, Shhh! Festival in Bedford, Time Flies and Cardiff to name a few, plus new music coming this year. So we’re honoured that he’s coming to Trinity Townhouse to play an intimate gig especially for his Hastings posse.
This is a free event so get there early to guarantee entry – doors open at 8pm with DJ Matt Adore looking after the decks until Jon takes over. Let’s show him a fabulous Hastings welcome – it promises to be a night to remember!
Trinity Townhouse is at 4 Claremont, Hastings TN34 1HA.
