Weekend
British director Andrew Haigh’s classic debut feature before the BAFTA and Oscar-nominated sensation of All of Us Strangers (2023). The film follows Russell who after a drunken house party with his straight mates, heads out to a gay club. Just before closing time, he picks up Glen but what’s expected to be just a one-night stand becomes something else, something special.
A (sort of) love story between two guys over a cold weekend in October and a modern queer classic presented by Peccadillo Pictures.
- Thursday 13 February, 7.30 pm
Moulin Rouge! – hosted by the Absinthe Fairy
Baz Luhrmann’s take on the Moulin Rouge starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor is lush, dense and ripe for an excessive and sumptuous Saturday night out. Hosted by Emily Booth as the Absinthe Fairy: she’s naughty – but never nice – demented and deranged it’s Medea Le Strange!
- Saturday 15 February, 7.30 pm
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
What would happen if we could erase painful relationship experiences from our memory? Filmmakers Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry answer this very question.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, enjoy this perfect anti-Valentine’s film that racked up 73 wins and 111 nominations in the film awards season following its 2004 release.
Starring Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, plus Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, and Tom Wilkinson.
