Journeys Dance Festival 2018
This brilliant free dance festival returns again with three diverse, outdoor dance performances in the 1066 area over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
On Saturday 25 August, Journeys begins with a contemporary performance-parkour show, Zoo Humans, in front of historic Battle Abbey. The two rapid performances at 1pm and 2pm are delivered by internationally acclaimed parkour pioneers, The Urban Playground Team and will feature a free parkour workshop in between.

Urban Playground Team
On Saturday evening from 7.30pm, Journeys moves to the Stade in Hastings for Southpaw Dance Co’s enthralling, Carousel. This fairground inspired dance drama plays out on a revolving carousel, as dancers flip, roll and dive to an infectious Balkan and Gypsy influenced score.

Moon
On Bank Holiday Monday, The Terrace at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, hosts Moon, a skilful dance circus production suitable for all ages from 3+. The two shows at 1.30pm and 3.30pm are audio-described and will be preceded at 1pm and 3pm by a touch tour to introduce blind and partially sighted audience members to the set, props, costumes and characters.
Journeys Dance Festival is produced by 18 Hours, an organisation with a passion for promoting diversity through its events. Since 2014, Journeys has brought a culturally varied programme of outdoor dance spectacles to three locations over one weekend, engaging all ages and abilities in new dance experiences. Shows are always free.
