Resonance FM London live broadcast from Dash the Henge record store hosted by DeXter Bentley with guests It Was All a Dream
Resonance FM transmits live from Kings Rd on Sat 10 Feb for Fat Tuesday
The London based community radio station for the arts comes down south to Hastings to be part of the week long Mardi Gras celebrations. The Hello Goodbye show of eclectic new music hosted by DeXter Bentley visits town for live performance and interview. Jude Montague previews the event.
Saturday live shows from Resonance FM are marked by the flagship music show Hello Goodbye. The programme has been broadcasting from Resonance FM since the station first hit the airwaves back in the Spring of 2002.
Hello Goodbye has been broadcasting from South London record shop Dash the Henge Store on Camberwell New Road in a collaborative residency. It’s a complex and tasking operation to create a live outside broadcast (OB) working with bands and other performers in a non-purpose setting, but the team now have a lot of successful shows behind them. This will be their first OB outside of London.
Singer songwriter Charlie Austen is one of the locally based musicians performing. Known for her dynamic folk-soul with an airy-yet-powerful vocal style she has a modern style with effective and personal lyrics. Also on the bill are local combo The Barbarian Horde who have a very original approach to performance and instrumentation and have been called Hastings’s own ‘Flight of the Conchords’. Festival director Sally Lampitt will be giving a live interview on the Hello Goodbye show.
The Hello Goodbye Show will be setting up in the Montague Armstrong studio so passers-by will be able to gaze in through the curved window at the performances and live broadcasting.
James Wvr from the Sonics will be talking live on The News Agents show, and sharing some tracks from acts on the Sunday line up performing at The Pig. including Column 258.
This will be a historic broadcast, the first ever live transmission for Resonance FM in St Leonards/Hastings and the occasion is the town’s legendary music festival Fat Tuesday.
