Christmas church fair raises funds
There were plenty of bargains for sale when Hastings’ Old Town Churches held their Christmas Fair on Saturday Nov 19). Linda Foy writes. Images Colin Foy.
A steady stream of shoppers visited St Clement’s Church in the High Street to buy knitted goods, toys, puzzles, books, jams, home-made cakes and savoury snacks. There was also a chance to win prizes on the lucky dip and lottery stalls.
Light refreshments were also served by volunteers during the annual event which aimed to raise funds for the upkeep and maintenance of St Clement’s and All Saints’ churches. Altogether, the fair raised more than £1,570.
