Get paid to write for HOT!
HOT is delighted to be the recipient of a Google grant to support local journalism during Covid-19.
We want to use some of these funds to encourage new writers to engage with HOT.
How it works:
Email hot@hastingsonlinetimes.co.uk with a proposal for a local news story that you would like to write. We want to hear your ideas for stories which have a local connection and are of interest to our community. Please include your phone number in the email.
If we like your proposal, we will ask you to go away to research and write up your story as a 1,000 word feature including at least two images which must be yours or you must have gained permission for them to be shared on the internet.
There should be a degree of research involved in your stories – e.g. interviewing someone or gathering opinions. Or a photo journalism story.
If your story is published you will be paid £150.00.
