HOT Style: Meet Libby

Libby Photo by Bev Francis
Spotted at the Sunday Flea Market in the Palace, White Rock, Hastings.
Libby’s ‘home made style’. HOT Style-Seeker, Claudine Eccleston, reports.
Where do you live?
In Hastings
What brings Libby to the Palace?
I intercepted Libby in between setting up for the flea market and collecting her daughters to return and do a spot of DJing while they sold some bits at the flea market. Libby, Bad Mutha Funker, can be seen and heard around town playing her selection of funk, soul and disco
Where do you buy your clothes?
Libby says she makes most of her clothes including what she is currently wearing.
She is not a trend follower but clearly will set some.
How would you describe your style?
Libby describes her style as ‘homemade style’ and was keen to say she doesn’t have any major style influence. She will see something that she likes and will try and make her own version. She describes her style as eclectic.
She’s comfortable in pin stripes, but then she likes a hippy look. If pushed she would say: “Bohemian probably sums me up!”
What are your favourite clothes?
Libby refuses to consider anything her favourite. “That’s like being asked my favourite music” she said in disgust. She likes clothes to be comfortable as she dances a lot. She then outstretched her arms and demonstrated her winged moves. She’s a Bad Mutha Funker for real.
