Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust
The Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust is currently working on a project in the Ore Valley. The ultimate aim is to develop the former power station site (Broomgrove) for affordable housing. This also entails supporting the Hastings Greenway group, which is working hard to make key services like the Ore Valley Sussex Coast College and Ore Station much more accessible to the surrounding neighbourhoods by opening up a route through the Ore Valley, which will pass through the power station site. Environmental Site Steward and Outreach worker for Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust (Ore Valley), Anton Hack writes.
In the build up to our ultimate aim, we will be carrying out some creative events on the site this year, which you’re welcome to attend or get involved with. Our big opening event with live music, open mic, food and riot-inspired art installations is on Saturday 8 April 8 from 2 until 9pm. All the events will be free – and there are volunteer and investment opportunities if you wish to support the Community Land Trust’s aims.
We need the support of the local creative community to help make this happen.
