Call Out: Hit the stage for Hastings Fringe Festival 2017
Have you got an original act you want to perform, new writing to showcase, a story to tell, poetry to slam, or music to share? Join us for the first call-out for this year’s fringe festival. Hastings Fringe is friendly, informal and inclusive, so show us what you’ve got, writes Miranda Gavin.
Now in its third year, Hastings Fringe Festival 2017 will be taking place over three weekends in September in venues throughout Hastings. This year the festival will build on the success of the last two years to showcase both local and national talent.
To take part, go to the Hastings Fringe website Take Part page, download the registration form and bring it with you, or fill one in on the day. Be ready to give us a two-minute taster of your performance, so that we can think about the best venue for your work. Otherwise, this is your chance to tell us about your act and talk through your ideas.
The first call-out for performers is at the Owl and Pussycat Lounge from 2-4pm on Saturday 28 January. NOTE: This venue is located up a few flights of stairs and is not wheelchair friendly, so if you need help with mobility then let us know and we can put your name down for the second call-out, which will be in a suitable venue.
We will be accepting a broad range of quality original material, but we will have limited slots for acts so get there early and give us a taster.
