Global Kitchen invitation

Women’s Voice invite you to the final event of our Global Kitchen 1066 project, funded by 1066 Anniversary Community Grants Fund 2016. The purpose of Global Kitchen is to celebrate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings and to promote diversity, inclusivity and happiness through cooking and eating for members of our community. Da Dunn, Global Cooking Project Manager for Women’s Voice writes.

For this project, we have already provided seven cookery events which have incorporated international themes and a variety of cultural experiences, interwoven with historical culinary influences from the Norman invasion.

Global Kitchen 1066 has been a wonderful and successful project so far and we invite you to celebrate the final session with us as an opportunity to network, socialise and try some of the best food in Hastings and St. Leonards!

The event is on Friday 2nd December 2016, from 11.30am-2pm at Chapel Park Community Centre, Chapel Park Road, St. Leonards on Sea, TN37 6HR. We look forward to seeing you there! 11.30 – 12.15 : Registration tea and coffee. 12.15 – 12.45 : Video by Carrina. 12.45 – 14.00 : Global Lunch.

Women’s Voice

Women’s Voice is a non-profit Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), run by women for women in Hastings & St Leonards. Women’s Voice seeks to:
empower all local women, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexuality or ability;
encourage respect and awareness amongst all cultures and beliefs’
promote gender equality; support equal opportunities for all women.

Aims of Women’s Voice

To provide a safe forum where women can meet and discuss issues which concern them
To identify women’s needs locally and work to meet them
To enable women to overcome barriers to achievement and success
To organise women-focused events
To challenge sexism and misogyny whenever we encounter it
To provide advocacy and practical support and information for the women of Hastings and St. Leonards
