Meet Laura Gill

Laura Gill
From: Robertsbridge
Spotted outside Susan Diamond’s shop, 22 Kings Road.
Laura described her style as an ‘unusual’, ‘unique’ and ‘alternative’ twist on practical chic. Her splash of elegant colour highlights her creative spirit from top to toe – and so we just had to interrogate her street style.
Her various muses give a colourful and fun background to her style; Vivienne Westwood and Charles of London to name just a couple. Her passion for ’40s fashion and dance music complements her vibrant personality.
As a newbie to the Hastings and St. Leonards area, Laura feels the change – from congested city to seaside kitsch – makes a nice scene for more alternative people. Her pull being the affordable fun atmosphere that echoes through St Leonard’s streets.
Being an Illustrator in London, she adores graphic novels and she is currently working on her own hand drawn illustrations. To check out her pen and graphite stroke of genius, visit her website.
And after asking what her most favoured wardrobe piece was, we were pleasantly surprised by her response of “a good pair of shoes”.
“My current shoes are looking for a good companion.”
After shuffling on her suede lace up boots, she concluded; “A good pair of shoes can make an entire outfit work”.
