Countdown to Hastings Beer and Music Festival
As Glastonbury’s vibes reverberate across the land, here comes Hastings’ own Beer and Music Festival, four nights of good music, beer and bonhomie on the Oval open space. Nick Terdre describes what waits in store.
From Wednesday 2 to Saturday 5 July we are in for four days of outstanding live entertainment, incredible drinks and heartfelt community spirit, says the organiser. Hastings Beer and Music Festival (HBMF) has become a true local tradition, and one with real impact, raising over £1.4m for local charities and causes.
Since it started in 1982, this not-for-profit event, organised entirely by volunteers from Hastings Round Table, has grown from a small gathering into one of the most anticipated festivals on the south coast.
Every drink, ticket, and dance step supports the local area. HBMF donates 100% of its profits to local charities and initiatives—helping those who need it most across Hastings and surrounding communities.

The Oval will be filled with an unbeatable selection of craft and real ales, lagers, ciders, wines, prosecco, and a dedicated gin and rum tent. Top-quality local food vendors will be serving up everything from street eats to gourmet treats.
“HBMF is about much more than beer and music—it’s about pride in our community, supporting local people, and showing just how much Hastings can come together to do something amazing,” said Peter May, HBMF chairman.

“This year’s lineup is our best yet, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to The Oval for what promises to be a phenomenal four days!”
This year also marks a major milestone for the organisers: Hastings Round Table is proudly celebrating its 95th anniversary. Founded in 1930, the group has spent nearly a century championing community spirit, charitable giving, and friendship.
HBMF stands as one of its greatest legacies—an event that perfectly embodies the Round Table’s mission to make a difference through action, fun, and fellowship.
