A rare chance to hear a world class performance of Indian classical music will be on offer on Saturday 10 May, when the renowned bansuri flute player Deepak Ram will be performing at Christ Church on Silchester Road in St Leonards. Julian Norridge reports.
West Marina St Leonards Ltd, the consortium proposing to develop the site of the old bathing pool in West St Leonards, submitted its initial proposals to the public at two well attended consultation meetings last week. However, representatives of local community groups found that they fell short of their own expectations of how the site should be developed. Nick Terdre reports.
An Outline Application has been made for an undeveloped site beside St Helen’s Church on the Ridge, for 65 dwellings. Objections are already approaching 150. Campaigners have a plan for 34 dwellings that better addresses issues of traffic, environmental damage, wildlife, flooding and quality of life. Bernard McGinley reports on views about Sandrock Bends.
Model railway enthusiasts will be able to indulge their favourite pastime when Hastings hosts its first model railway exhibition for several years. The event takes place at Hastings Academy on Sunday 18 May, as Nick Terdre explains.
