Fire walking on hot coals

Fire walking on hot coals

3 in 1 Challenge for Sara Lee Trust

This October, The Sara Lee Trust is offering daredevils the chance to take part in a unique 3 in 1 Challenge event. Do you dare to walk barefoot over hot coals and cut glass and then chop through wood with just your hand all in support of the Trust? If so then the Fire, Glass Walk and Board Break could be just the event for you. Fundraising & Admin Officer for Sara Lee Trust, Nikki Hawes writes.

You can take part alone or with a team of people and all participants will receive expert specialist training from Time4Change immediately prior to the events. Anyone over the age of 16 can take part. We will need to have consent from parents or guardians, who will also need to attend the event, for participants aged 16 or 17.

The event will take place on Saturday 7 October at Hastings and Bexhill Rugby Football Club at William Parker Lower School in Hastings, where there will also be live music and a firework finale.

There is a registration fee of £10, which includes a t-shirt and all we ask in return is that you undertake a minimum sponsorship pledge of £250.

If you would like to take on this challenge of a lifetime, please contact the fundraising team for a registration form on 01424 457969 or by emailing nikkihawes@saraleetrust.org

All proceeds raised will help The Sara Lee Trust who provide psychological and counselling support, complementary therapies and therapeutic group activities to people in Hastings and Rother affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. The Trust has to raise over £200,000 each year to fund our essential services and would be delighted if you would consider supporting us by taking part in this event.

The Sara Lee Trust aims to improve the lives and well-being of people affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area through the provision, free of charge, of psychological and counselling support, creative and complementary therapies, and therapeutic group activities.

The Sara Lee Trust is the dedicated provider of specialist end-of-life counselling and complementary therapy services to patients of St. Michael’s Hospice (St. Leonards on Sea) and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital. They are committed to making their service accessible to all in an area where deprivation, early death and health inequalities are significantly worse than the national average. Complementary to medical care, the Trust offers time, meaningful touch and support, so that each person may live life as fully as possible, even with a life threatening diagnosis.
