Organising fun and games for the blind since 1921
MANDY McDERMOTT writes about the Hastings & Rother Voluntary Assn. for the Blind
We are a local charity which has been running since 1921 and we feel we are a very valued asset to the local community’s partially sighted and blind people. Our aims are to meet whatever needs our members require.
We run a variety of clubs, Art, Dominoes, 383 Club, Wednesday Club, Music and Movement, Mountfield Club, Craft, Undaunted, and Boccia.
Also we run The John Taplin Centre which is very busy: people can come and meet up with their friends and make new friends, and enjoy quizzes and entertainment.
We have a good team of volunteers drivers, helpers, tea makers and entertainers who make this all possible. If you feel you would like to volunteer for a very worthwhile charity or if have sight problems and would like to join in, please contact Mandy on 433762.
