Jacques Brel double bill heading for Hastings

Fans of Jacques Brel are in for a treat on Thursday 7 July, as Dead Belgian will be playing live at the OB Theatre as part of a double bill of Brel worship, writes John Knowles.

Opening the night will be a full-length feature film starring Jacques’ Les Risques du Metier in which Brel plays a school teacher in a small rural town accused of raping one of his pupils.

After the break will be a live performance by the amazing Dead Belgian, who hail from Liverpool. Dead Belgian don’t just ‘play’ the songs of Brel but live them, they bring colour, life and verve and their own sense of robust yet tender performance, enhanced by lead singer (and local singer/songwriter) Brooke Sharkey.

‘’Dead Belgian play the music of Jacques Brel with a twist of stunning
originality and devotion that has been garnering them serious attention from
the music critics and standing ovations wherever they play.’
Band On The Wall, Manchester

Film starts at 7pm with Dead Belgian on about 9pm.

Tickets are on sale online.
